Morfa Coke Works of Tata Steel UK have awarded John M Henderson a contract for the supply of a Battery Pushing Emission Control Solution to extract dust and fumes generated during the coke pushing operation. The new system, comprising of a self-propelled John M Henderson Dust Hood Machine and a large diameter interconnecting Duct, are to be integrated with an existing ground-based suction & scrubbing unit.

The new JMH Dust Hood Machine and Duct Solution incorporate Best Available Technologies for Coke Side Emission Control and will be designed to guarantee Zero Emission on the coke side at Port Talbot, helping Morfa Coke Works comply with tight environmental legislation.

John M Henderson have started the design of the new system, which is expected to be operational at Morfa in the second part of 2019
