John M Henderson have recently completed the successful lift and hot commissioning of the JMH Charging Car on the 5.5m coke oven battery of ArcelorMittal Zenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A team of JMH mechanical and automation commissioning engineers have supervised the testing of the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on the ground level, before the 126 Tonne Car was lifted in one piece into position on the coke oven battery.
Installation Supervisor Sam Rankin led the scope of work and commented: “The Car was not designed to be lifted in one piece onto the battery, but to be erected on the battery top parking area. However, for operational reasons, our customer asked us to alter the approach and our design engineers have developed a suitable Lifting Arrangement, including all necessary Lifting equipment, to support the structure and make the machine fit for heavy lift installation.” “Our client was delighted with the successful installation of the JMH Charging Car, the heavy lift and commissioning phase. The positive feedback confirms the value we offer through our long term technical expertise and flexible customer approach.”
The Heavy Lift Installation of the Charging Car at the end of September 2016 was followed by hot commissioning in October, with the Car entering full operation and production on November 1st, 2016.
